Originally posted by caissad4 I stopped playing in it a couple of years ago. In the first round a 1200 rated player was clearly using an engine in my section. He aced the section except for 1 draw which I just managed to hold. I reported him and nothing was done. This was in the time when we were supposed to have people actively working to find computer cheats.
Exactly. People who have never engineeered before will likely pick this as their time to shine.
"Ever since my upset win in the 2014 RHP Championships, I've felt like a different player!"
Surely there can be no satisfaction from winning a game where you never
won but a machine did.
Most cower behind a nik with no profile, nobody knows who they are, there is no glory.
There is no money to be won.
and now my point...
Even the thrill (if that is what it is) of trying to avoid getting caught has been removed.
What is the point?
AgainI stress your chances of meeting a box are slim.
Just play and sac something. If you win you win, if you lose you lose.
If you win or lose gloriously then you get blogged. Who cares?
You are playing in a 800+ player tournament featuring players from every
corner of the world...including Glasgow, which by the way is a giant ash tray with traffic lights.
I've been playing in this tournament since 2008. I have never been knocked out by an engine user. I get knocked out because I play total crap over the board.
If you play, you do face the possibility of inspiring a gp blog posting. Maybe better than actually winning. I dont go back and check who actually wins - get bounced and move on to the next tournament.

You have a whole set of tournament wins on fast time control. I would have thought a 16 way 50 day timebank would be just the thing...
Your rating gets high enough to be in with a chance to win a group if you get a reasonable draw.
