British irony goes there. But you don't get what the "there" is. The thing being satized is the stupid attitude. The humour is not "at the expense of" lesbians. The humour is "at the expense of" people with unenlightened attitudes. So, yes, you get a whoosh.

I worked in the North yorkshire Rehabilitation center in Harrogate many times,swimming pool,Tennis courts,Gym,hydro-therapy and sauna+ great food ( pro Chef) mostly police but the fire brigade do get to use it,not knocking the police if they need to de-stress but I do think the rest of the armed forces should be treated the same.
