The Soviets controlled half of Germany at that time.

Yes they did and there were rebels at the time too. We would get the Russians out of the rest of Eastern Europe, then Germany after.

……creak……creak……opens up the conspiracy vault…..lets see now, the usual suspects.....

The most profitable way to control a state is to be in a perpetual state of war.

The Fed in conjunction with a Government system corrupted by the military lobby, thought it better to scare the public with reds under the bed and for forty years ramp up the size and potency of its military machine to emerge as an Imperial power, all the while socializing the cost with increasing debt and in the process undo the tents of a constitutional republic, replacing it with crowd pleasing buzzwords such as 'freedom' and 'democracy' as the populace were led down the road to serfdom.

When Communism collapsed they conveniently found a new enemy and started a war on terror against groups that they had sourced and funded into existence, and the militarism and debt and the road to serfdom continued unabated.

Why? Because in some quarters Orwell’s 1984 was seen as less of a work of fiction than a playbook whereby the 1% could enjoy their wealth on top of a very broad based, debt enslaved pyramid, where for the most part the actors in the base are blissfully unaware of their state of servitude, while they busy themselves with the baubles and trinkets so readily available at their app or play store.

    ……. creak…….creak……….closes the vault door

And what quarters would that be? (Apart from that spooky quarter of your mind!)
