A brief chronology here .
On March 19, Russ posted a thread for a clan consultation vote.
One item regarded considering a minimum clan size requirement.
5 members was a popular vote.
On March 30, lemondrop started adding members. Today he has 7 members.
I reviewed his current clan challenges in pending status. (Issued but not yet accepted).
There are 25 of these of which 16 have been issued in last 2 days.
The number of challenges involving any of the new members is 0.
Yup !! ZERO !!
Additionally, I am hard pressed to find many challenges in progress that involve any of the new members.
The scam is simple. Focus on the player that will get the easy points.
Adding other players to the challenge puts the easy points at risk.
In the meantime, Mctayto has completed 350 clan games since joining Lemondrop's clan on Jan 2nd.
His record. 248W, 29D, 73L.
His rating - 1056.
He continues to toss tournament games to keep his rating where it is in order to continue to draw mismatched opponents in clan games.
I haven't looked at his games for weeks but a quick look at his most recent games reveals that about 7 of his last 10 completed games (as of this writing) have been thrown intentionally.
Here are 2 tournament games tossed today against a 950 rated player.
Game 13190087
Game 13190089
This is an utter disgrace !!
And that it involves a player previously suspended from clan play for 18 months brings into question why this individual was reinstated.
Especially since he resumed his antics almost immediately.
And the leader of this clan (I won't name it as the name changes several times a week) bumps up his roster in case Russ implements a minimum clan size, but appears to have no intention of using the new clan members.
This fiasco is a 2 player fiasco that involves the use of one player with a bogus rating to to abuse a clan feature that is based in large part on goodwill.
At this point, I am inclined to tell Russ that he is wasting his time if he is seriously thinking about taking his clan consultation vote forward into action.
I think focus should be on:
- further thought on a separate rating for clan games.
- a punitive regime centered on review of activities by certain individuals and clans with application of player bans and clan suspensions.
These are not new concepts.
They have applied before.
Continued vigilance by the clan community is a useful tool in making this work.
Feel free to add your thoughts.
