Congrats to the Cubs.
My wife was telling me about some guy years ago that put in his high school year book
that the Cubs would win the WS in 2016, he also wrote you heard it here first. I assume
he was just joking around, but still managed to nail the year. I'll try to find the link.

it was their new GM. Plus the team. But it was the GM who put that team together. They have one of the best relievers in all of pitching. A complete team, and a young team. Many farm players. But the GM put it all together. He is a winner where ever he has gone. Everywhere. This has nothing to do with money in my humble opinion. If it did, my Yankees would win every single year. 🙂 I am thrilled the Cubs won. My Yankees will stink for a long time. As long as the brothers are the owners.
Back down to earth, Cub fans. Ever since Catfish Hunter, the World Series has frequently belonged to the team that bought the available mercenary pitchers. Lester, Lackey, and Chapman will un-Cub themselves when the money comes calling, and maybe provoke Arietta to do the same. The Cubs get credit for the great young players they groomed in the minors, but they would not be champs without paying the mercenaries.

Money had nothing to do with it. They won on talent, a great team, and one of the best GM's in all of baseball. Wasn't it the Marlins who won on almost no money for payroll?
Cubs won it all that is all that matters. 🙂 I hope they stay.
