It looks like you're only 1 move away from mounting a nasty attack on the black king, and feasting on a few pawns if you can escape all those annoying checks.

Essentially its a do or die type position, either i create something on the queenside or I am going to get crushed king-side. I sacrificed a pawn to give me what I thought was a target. In retrospect I think it should have been better prepared, it was hastily prepared and although it had the desired effect my pieces were not organized enough. Exchanging rooks was also a very poor decision, why create a backward pawn and them swap off pieces that can put pressure on it, duh! The position was delicately balanced and had I found the correct defensive moves I think it may well have been a draw. Endgames are super sharp though and all it takes is one false move and we are walking the plank!

I have to believe the ending is won for Black though. Extra pawn and the Pg3 is dangerous.

extra pawn is essentially meaningless I think, it cannot go anywhere, exchanging rooks was really silly i feel in retrospect. The real danger I felt was that black could sacrifice and because of that advanced nature of his pawns its winning. Computer says its a very slight advantage for black until I played 39. Qc1 to try to meet blacks threats. Still computers don't always evaluate these things correctly and maybe you are correct. It was a very enjoyable game even though I lost.

With Queens on, sure, Pc7 is stuck. However, trade Q's, put bK on d7 and then it moves. Not saying this idea always works but white must be wary of it AND sacrifices on f3 to spring the g3 pawn. Tough defensive task.

Yeah it was, I always had the feeling though that it was fairly balanced, exchanging rooks was suicidal. I have a tendency to simply any chance I get, I think its fear and a chess player should not be scared.

What's wrong with N b4, stopping the queen going to d3 or c2?
