Actually that was the first form I learned some thirty years ago.

Now I am doing á mxi of diverse types leaning mainly on methods from Person centered therapy enriched with the structural Approach of individual therapy and a few things from behaviour therapy.

I was. And I won't deny it. It is part of my life and I don't know of any psychological system that endorses self-belying (exp?).

I didn't think a man of science like yourself would endorse such
irrational, unethical and possibly dangerous pseudoscience!

I think it's good if the counsellor has walked a few miles in the other guys shoes.

From personal knowledge (an immediate family member) I know that ECT does perform miracles in some situations. I also know ECT patients who achieved no benefit, so it's a lucky dip.

I think it's a good idea to get robust qualified professional cognitive therapy when appropriate. I've seen a councillor myself for help with managing stress a few years ago. It was useful.

My friend had a head wound so remembering my first aid training
I put a tourniquet round his neck.
The bleeding stopped very quickly, we still lost the poor swine.

I was looking at counseling and the guy in my village who was best used that technique (well he already had some other elements in his work.
