Kinda casts doubt on the alleged intelligence of the human race, doesn't it.

You'll have to explain yourself on that one, since I can think of several cases where such is not the case.
    Like?

You DO know the meaning of the word "eclipse", right?

It's not conditional on the apparent size of the obscuring body.

No, the existence of a few flat earth nutters does not cast doubt on the alleged intelligence of the human race. The election of Trump, however, does.

You don't think the nutters are the ones elected him?

    He explained this already.

There is more to it than that. I think a few flat earthers probably did vote Trump. But so did many many other people. My concern about Trump, however, is not just about Trump, but the way he has been enabled by all those in his party and much of the media. The way truth has been thrown out the window. What I want to see is what happens in the next election. If a single republican that currently holds a position and has not yet spoken out against Trump or outright resigned manages to get re-elected, then, I will know, that all hope for humanities rationality is lost. Basically, it would appear that partisanship beats rationality. That basic human problem is what lead to the holocaust and most major wars. It is also what lead to Brexit. It is even partly responsible for terrorism and the problems of religion.

    Yeah right?
Flat Earth or not, it still doesn't negate the plight of humanity. The environmental and sociological concerns remain.

It appears that for many people, partisanship is more important than things like environmental and sociological concerns. We see it every day on this forum where people defend positions for purely ideological reasons ignore the facts or logical arguments in favour of a goal. This is not unique to republicans, but does seem to be more acceptable to those on the right. Many on the left are guilty of it, but less blatantly so.

No and he won't either since he has to consult his puppet masters who also have no answer to that one.
