Forums often list a site to go to for back up information. Is there a way to copy and paste the URL without having to write it down and retype it?

Yes, you should be able to copy it and paste it into the url window at the top of the page.
Just hold down the left button and drag it across the text you want to copy, as usual.
Then right click it and copy.
When you right-click the highlighted text you should also see an option at the top of the pop-up window that allows you to go directly to the site from that window, so you don't even have to copy and paste it. "Open Link" is the option.
At least I have that option with firefox. I don't know about other browsers.

    I hope that helps!
