    Neat.

I see the percentages as indicators of the popularity of certain openings. For example whites d-pawn and blacks c-pawn have a low survivability due to the popularity of the Sicilian defense.

I see the White d-pawn is the most likely candidate not survive a game.

Easily understood. It gets chopped in Sicilians.

In KP openings d2-d4 is ususally the only way to get an opening plus.
The Lopez, The Scotch, Giuoco Piano, The Danish, The Philodor....

d4 is usually the spark that ignites the captures and the d-pawn falls
on either d4 or e5 (after taking the Black e-pawn)

In QP openings it is the target for a freeing c5 or e5 by Black.
In the Benoni it is pulled forward to d5 and hit with e6.
In the KID/Pirc it is pulled forward to d5 and often hit with c6.
It is attacked and swopped by a c5 in The French.

I'd like to see the score of the games where the d-pawn survivs the game.
If it tips heavily in White favour then we have discovered the secret of chess.

Do not leave your d-pawn open to attack. Protect your d-pawn.

My bet is that games in which the d-pawn survives tip heavily in Black's favor.

    Sac that d-pawn!

Interesting that the Queen's knights are slightly more likely to survive - probably they are harder to get over to the attack side
