    1.Reti

2.Alekhine, Euwe (current WC) , Capablanca, Botvinnik and Lasker.
(Bogubolov a two times challenger, was also there.).
Also there, Reshevsky, Tartakower, Fine, Winter, Vidmar, Flohr.......
Botvinnik and Capa tied first place

    3. Nimzovitch and Samisch (copenhagen 1923)

    4. Andersson and Dufrense (I always get the opponents mixed up - cannot spell the other one.) 🙂

    5. No idea - guess at Lasker. (I know his named defence to the Evans is OK)

    6. I cannot remember. A pawn at the base of a chain (guess)

    7. An Endgame 🙁 No. Advancing the g-pawn draws.

    8. Another endgame True. (quick counting guess but it looks right.)

    9. Breyer

    10. It was a draw - but I cannot recall the score. (3 wins each?)

    The quartgrip is this:

    Reti d. Capa @ New York 1924 (I think)

    Reshevsky-Fischer ended 5.5-5.5.

GP: 9 out of 10 ! Wow. (Reshevsky-Fischer was drawn is good enough. Only SG--aka Mycroft--would know the exact figures.)

"Reti (1.N-KB3--what else?) defeated Capa @ New York 1924"
--round 5, a sensation at the time.

    "Reshevsky-Fischer ended 5.5-5.5."
    --a hard-fought match between 2 US champions.

11 out of 10. I expected no less of you.
    Cheers,
    Sherly

Endgame study: note that the position below is won for Black, with or without the move. The difference being that Black's NP can advance either one or two squares. The clue is: for Black to win, the White K must be on the R file when the Black NP advances to the 6th rank. An exercise in tempo-calculation, to be worked out in your heads, lads.
