A friend of mine sent me the following article which I have translated from Portuguese. Neither I know the author nor where/whether it was published:

By Laura Botelho, writer and researcher:
"When the media, conventional and respected, invokes an air of suspense about the vanished aircraft after all the scientific hypotheses were exhausted to explain what happened to MH-370, something strange is going on. In an age when people are being recruited to go to Mars, it is difficult to explain the inability to find a "little aeroplane"! Let's make a diagnostic of this strange case, gathering the pieces of the puzzle that are known.

    So:
Boeing 777-200ER, Malaysia Airlines, has a good safety record, and is said to be one of the safest due to its technology. It carried 239 passengers. Seven were children.
Flight MH-370 departed the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 00:41 of Saturday (16:41GMT Friday) and should arrive in Peking at 06:30 (22:30GMT) - a little more than 7h(sic) of flight. Captain Zaharie Ahmed Shah had more than 18,000 flight hours and worked for the company since 1981, 33 years.

It was confirmed that on board there were 20 employees (12 from Malaysia and 8 from China) of Freescale Semiconductor - a technology company with headquarters in Texas and bases in Kuala Lumpur and Tianjin, China. Freescale Semiconductor develops micro-processors, sensors and other technologies executing computing functions in electronic systems for the past 50 years.

Freescale had just launched a new gadget for electronic warfare for military radar systems only days before the disappearance of the Boeing. Apparently the patent would have been approved 4 days after the disappearance of the flight, and what was in play was exactly the right to the patent.

The value of the patent would be divided thus - 20% for Freescale Semiconductor + 20% for each of the 4 employees, who were in the aircraft. In case they are not found, Freescale Semiconductor will have complete control of the patent. If one of the owners of the patent dies the remaining owners split evenly the deceased dividends(sic), if there is no will. If four of the five die then the remaining one gets 100% of the patent. The holders of the patent may alter the product(sic) legally, passing it to his inheritors. However they cannot do it before the patent is approved which did not happen because the aircraft disappeared!

Who are the shareholders of Freescale's 20%? They include the Carlyle Group of investors of private equity, whose advisers in the past included the ex-American president George Bush father, and the ex-British Prime Minister John Major. Renown Carlyle clients include the Saudi Binladin Group, the building construction company owned by the family of Osama Bin Laden.

It is known that a highly suspicious cargo was in the aircraft on 8 March, declared "publicly as lithium batteries". For this reason Moscow would have notified the Ministry of Security of China (MSS) of its concern about that cargo, and Moscow received from the Chinese guarantees that all measures would be taken to verify what was being kept so hidden when the aircraft entered Chinese airspace.

But let's look at some details little known until now:
Flight MH-370 was apparently deviated from its course by remote control. Monitored by satellites and VKO radars in the Indian Ocean, it flew almost 3,447km (2.142 miles) to the Diego Garcia atoll.
The allegation is that a remote control (drone type) may have been used to control the aircraft, its speed, altitude and direction by means of radio signals without the interference of the pilots.
Now, the USA have the technology to commandeer the aircraft to its base in Diego Garcia, or any other base, for this aircraft Boeing 777-200ER is equipped with a fly-by-wire(FBW) system which replaces the conventional manual controls of an aircraft with an electronic interface (remote control) which allows the control of any aircraft of this type.

    Meanwhile:
Maldives inhabitants allege having seen an aeroplane flying low at 06:15 on 8th March, whose description is similar to MH-370. A local aviation specialist said that the aircraft probably flew over the Maldives. The possibility of any aircraft to have flown over the island at that time is extremely low, added the specialist.

Eye-witnesses in Kuda Huvadhoo agreed that the aeroplane was flying form North to South-east(sic) towards the southern most part of the Maldives islands. They also confirmed the incredibly high noise made by the aeroplane when flying over them. It is known that the aircraft, after losing contact, came down to 3,000 feet, naturally to avoid the majority of radars.

    Inhabitants of the Maldives:
    - I never saw an aeroplane fly so low over our island. We see hydroplanes but I am sure this was not one of those, said an eye-witness. Some people came out of their houses to see what caused this tremendous noise.

All indications are the vanished aircraft is in Diego Garcia, a very peculiar and important American military base. The mathematics for the mileage and duration of the flight coincide perfectly with the facts described here, showing that the search for an aeroplane which dropped into the ocean is just a smokescreen. I think this sums up all about this farce, put up to hide something secretly very heavy. Perhaps one day we will find out the motives for the course deviation. We just have to be alert. We have to research and understand the modus operandi of and how we were so easily fooled"

There you are. At least it answers the question I have not seen asked by the media: why did it turn 180o and flew into the middle of the Indian Ocean...

Interesting theory. Could use a UFO to give it a bit of pizzazz, and maybe a vampire or two.
