    Ivanchuk shows flashes of brilliance but I'm more interested to see how Wesley So does and from the games standpoint Jobava is very creative too...also Hou has a chance to end Polgar's 25-year reign at the top of the women's rating list.

    Ivanchuk starts Tata Steel with a win ! His opponent was Jobava (2727). It was a Sicilian then rook & pawns endgame. Very even until Jobava traded Rooks..allowing Ivanchuk's a pawn to queen..

    I thought both players played well but blacks last move is a clear blunder! Whites e-pawn marches to promotion on the spot after the exchange of rooks..
