Joined 24 May '12 Moves 30766 Hi everyone, Im sure someone will know the awnser to this. What is the opening name for e4 e5 d4. Thanks in advance.
Officially it's called the Center (or Centre!) Game, but it almost always transposes to something else. e.g. the Scotch: 1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Nf3 Nc6

One thing I noted, if black puts out the knight instead of bringing back the bishop, it is a counter gambit, QxB, N-d5 and now white is in deep doo doo.
