Why does he prefer ISIL to ISIS? It would be nice if a reporter would ask this question, but that cannot happen because this is the USA and Presidents should not be asked questions like that when Obama is trying to come up with a strategy.
BTW, how can someone say they are bombing people without a strategy? Obama isn't that stupid. He must be saying that so people will criticize him and feel he has to go along with the majority of Americans who are outraged by those videos that don't show beheadings but think they do.

I heard no actual beheading is shown on the videos of the 2 journalists. What is shown is not consistent with reality. Very little blood and a limp body of Foley.

Perhaps Kazet is right and he has some sympathy for the ancient religion of Egypt. Were I in his shoes I would not wish to dignify that organisation with the name of a Goddess. ISIL is a perfectly reasonable name to call them by. I don't understand your problem with it. You are looking at details hoping to understand the wider picture when what you need to do is to look at the wider picture.
