Just noticed the most amazing symmetry between the corruption scandal involving Shapps, the Chairman of the Conservative Party, and the "meltdown" scene in Bob Roberts.

In all seriousness, how long can this individual remain in post? It seems entirely appropriate that he remain chairman since he is symbolic of the kind of mendacious, get-rich-quick extractive capitalism that typifies the Conservative Party, but this revelation is some weeks old and he continues to hold a post in the cabinet.
