Here's a recent game I played in the first round of a weekend tournament. I have resolved to review and try and learn from my games and it's always more fun with company. Unfortunately I don't have the company of any chessers in the real world so I thought I'd stick it up here. I'm white.
1. e4 c6 2. d3 d5 3. Nd2 dxe4 4. dxe4 e5 5. Ngf3 Bg4 6. Bc4 Bd6 7. O-O Nf6 8. Bxf7+ {Far too impatient, and poor calculation, missing 9. ....Ke7 which holds the position together. A combination of overconfidence vs a weaker opponent, a pre determined plan to attack f7 and a genuine weakness in calculation.} Kxf7 9. Nc4 Bc7 10. Nfxe5+ Ke7 11. Qxd8+ {11. Nxg4 wouldn't work because of ....Qxd1 removing the defender. This move draws the rook into a skewer on the d8 h4 diagonal.} Rxd8 12. Nxg4 Nxg4 13. Bg5+ Nf6 14. e5 {Here 14. ....b5 and the Knight proves itself a poor defender. Unlike B, Q and R, when it has to move it has to relinquish it's defence. Neither of us saw this move during the game.} h6 15. exf6+ gxf6 16. Rfe1+ Kf7 17. Be3 {avoiding Bxh6 because of the weakness on h2. Also, after winning material, centralising my scattered forces to lessen my opponents counterplay.} Nd7 18. Rad1 Kg6 19. Rd3 Ne5 20. Rxd8 Bxd8 21. Nxe5+ fxe5 22. Rd1 Bf6 23. Rd6 Rd8 24. Rxd8 Bxd8 25. Bxa7 e4 26. Be3 {Blockading and centralising.} h5 27. f3 Kf5 28. fxe4+ Kxe4 29. Kf2 Bf6 30. b3 Be5 31. h3 {Now the black bishop has no targets.} h4 32. Ke2 b5 33. Bf2 Bf6 34. a4 b4 35. a5 Bd8 36. a6 c5 37. Bxc5 1-0
