I won today and ended above 50% which hasn't happened since Open Malta 2014. I won also at least 20 ELO points. Maybe more.
Paul Legget obivously thinks i am in the search for excuses, so he wrote approximately that I left out only two of them (excuses): heart attaxk and "sexy blondeine opponent".
Well, next to heart attack occured today. My "neighbur" was jigging with his legs all the time and the table was shaking crazy. My oppoenent warned him once, but longer the game was unfolding, this Parkinson-guy was shaking with arms head, legs and it was driving me crazy.
When he finished his game and left, I hoped I could continue my game in peae, but then my opponent began to jig.
And speaking of blondine as distracitve opponent, that little Spanyard from yesterday had 2 sisters and several cousins with him as spectators, and two sisters tried to distract me with their ahm, "attributes"; how I should put it... I discovered that only today during the ceremony when I saw whole bunch of his family.
Anyway, here's how I won today in morning round. What I missed in round 7 returned now.
1. Nf3 Nf6 2. g3 d5 3. Bg2 c6 4. O-O Bg4 5. Ne5 {Romanishin here knows the best move, but I always play like this.} Bf5 6. d4 Nbd7 7. c4 e6 8. Qb3 {?! First Nc3, and maybe then Bf4 and possible cxd5 in between. Nd3 is always in mind.} Qb6 {! Now I am already struggling for equal position.} 9. Rd1 {? I was still in Romanishin’s footsteps, but on wrong way. 9. Bf4 was goody.} Nxe5 {We were both blind here: he had …Qxb3 and then Bc2.} 10. dxe5 Ng4 11. Qxb6 axb6 12. cxd5 exd5 13. Bf4 {Now I was thinking of 13. Nc3 and if 13.…Nxe5 14. e4 in hope to stire the celar water. But Black would probably play 13…Bc5} Bc5 14. e3 f6 {?; He played very quickly and this was poor move. Better was ..Rg8 with unstoppable …g5. At this point my neighbour Nicolas Aiglon was trembling with both legs, arms and head. His elbow was on my score sheet every now and then, so I moved it to my left. It was sick in every way. I didn’t keep my elbows on the table but under it, like poker player ready to pull the gun.} 15. exf6 Nxf6 16. Nc3 {Better was Nd2 with idea Nb3-Nd4.} O-O {?!; castling wasn’t necessary.} 17. a3 b5 18. Ne2 Rae8 19. b4 Bb6 20. Nd4 Bg4 21. Rd3 {Here I was dreaming of Nxb5 and Bxd5+, but that was not a threat. And I didn’t need such drastic measures.} Ra8 22. Bd6 {Now I should have played f3, following Bh3 and building a fortress-position. It was almost equal position. But I was nervous because of the Parkinson-man next to me and believed my position is rotten.} Rfe8 23. h3 Bh5 24. f4 {In next couple of moves we were both blind. Now he had 24… .Rxe3, and also in the next move perhaps two!} Bg6 25. f5 Bxd4 26. Rxd4 Bxf5 {So I lost a Pawn.} 27. g4 Bg6 {Better was 27…Be4 on which I tried to calculate if 28. g5 could give me different-coloured Bishops. Yes, it could, by at price of loss of another Pawn.} 28. Bf4 {Whilst I was thinking for this move, Parkinson-trembler-jigger won his game and I waited for him to bloody go and drop dead already, although I had 11 minutes 37 seconds on the clock.} Ra4 29. Rd2 Rea8 30. Rda2 Bd3 {But Parkinson-man soon retuned to shake hand with my opponent. So they were friends. And – my opponent began to shake the table with his legs. It’s concpiracy against me, I thought.} 31. Bf1 {?; According to Rybka, I should keep Bishop alive and play Bf3. I don’t see why.} Bxf1 {Bxc4!?} 32. Kxf1 Ne4 33. Be5 Kf7 34. Ke2 g6 35. Bd4 Ke6 36. h4 Nd6 37. h5 gxh5 38. gxh5 Nc4 {?; I saw my chance with check on f6 when I played h4 and h55, but he didn’t. He had to play here …Rg8 and then Rg5. This should have won the game for Black. For once it was only one of us who was blind, and not me } 39. Rf1 Rxa3 {?; he still had …Ne5 with advantage.} 40. Rf6+ Ke7 41. Rxa3 Rxa3 42. Rh6 {Position is equal now. His face displayed disappointment.} Ra2+ 43. Kf3 Rh2 44. Kg3 Rh1 45. Kg2 Rc1 46. Bc5+ {I am complicating. Was it because of shaking table? I had only about half an hour after time control, and my opponent hour and 28 minutes.} Kf7 47. Rxh7+ Kf6 48. Rxb7 Kg5 49. Rh7 {During the game I thought I should win this, but Rybka says that Black still has some little advantage here, and that 49. …Rc3 was the best.} Kg4 50. h6 Rc2+ 51. Kg1 Ne5 {??; this was that losing move, because Black ventured to checkmate. 51. …Kh5 52. Rc7 Kxh6 53. Rxc6+ is draw. Also: checking my King Rc2+-Rc1+ is draw.} 52. Rg7+ Kf3 53. h7 {Now I win.} Rc1+ 54. Kh2 Rc2+ 55. Kh3 Rc1 56. Rg3+ Ke4 57. Kh2 Rc2+ 58. Rg2 {Here I walked through the hall waiting from the distance for him to stop the clock and resign.}
